He became a young novice monk and a disciple of Phra Moggallana (one of the Buddha’s chief disciples known for his supernatural powers), achieving enlightened arahantship at a very young age. At the age of 23 years and 6 months, due to a past karmic connection, a woman fell in love with him and embraced him from behind, captivated by his beauty. Maintaining his celibacy, he then departed from his spiritual body to the Brahma world, leaving his physical form behind in Savatthi. According to worldly law, his spirit died before his natural lifespan and therefore did not enter the realm of Arhatship.
