Luang Phor Kasem would always point out that as a forest monk he does not require any property. The only things he owned were an alms bowl, his robe he was wearing and a piece of human bone to practice meditations. He did not even own any shoes or even pillow to sleep. To him, a pillow was a luxury. He used to sleep on the ground at the same spot where he was meditating.Luang Phor Kasem passed away on Jan 15, BE 2539 at the Lampang hospital. He was 84.

***Continuing the legendary heritage of the “Phra Khun Paen Indochine” the first Phra Khun Paen Indochine amulet created by Luang Por Tae Khongthong of Wat Sam Ngam, Nakhon Pathom Province, a revered master monk renowned worldwide for creating the famous Kuman Thong. According to historical records, Luang Por Tae created the Phra Khun Paen Indochine amulet around BE2484. The amulet was formed from a collection of mystical and sacred materials, including soil from seven cemeteries, seven mineral mounds, seven river piers, seven orchards, seven plantations, and seven rice fields, along with seven consecrated boundary-marker residues (Khai Sema). Most importantly, it contained the essential and powerful ingredient known as “Phong Prai”, a mystical sacred powder long associated with ancient Thai occult traditions. These amulets were created and bestowed as spiritual protection and encouragement for Thai soldiers who were departing for the battlefield during the Greater East Asia War, also known in Thailand as the Indochine War. It was a turbulent era when the nation was surrounded by chaos, uncertainty, and constant danger.
