Wat Mongkhon Khothawat, also known as Wat Luang Por Pan, located in Samut Prakan. It is situated near Khlong Dan Market. Luang Por Pan, a well-respected monk during King Rama V's reign, stayed at this temple and improved everything, making it an important temple of the district until now. The temple, formerly called Wat Bang Hia Nok, was constructed in 1757. The name of the sub district was Bang Hia, hence the name of the temple. Later, the authorities changed the name of the sub district to Khlong Dan because "Hia" is a Thai swear word. Since then, to make the temple's name sound better, it is changed to Wat Mongkhon Khothawat. What is interesting at this temple is the image of Luang Pho Pan, enshrined in the kuti (where the monks reside in the temple compound). Currently issued new batch of Popular Phra Kring and Statues for raise fund for temple restoration.
